Irish employers expect to continue growing staff numbers in second quarter of 2015 according to the latest Employment Outlook Survey by Manpower, the workforce solutions company.
The report shows that Munster region employers report strongest hiring forecast since 2007. Furthermore, staffing levels are forecast to grow in 8 of 11 sectors evaluated with the Transport, Storage and Communications sectors expecting the strongest job growth.
The Survey was conducted by interviewing a representative sample of 620 Irish employers. All survey participants were asked: "How do you anticipate total employment at your location to change in the three months to the end of June 2015 as compared to the current quarter?"
Employers are reporting a seasonally adjusted Net Employment Outlook of +6% for April to June 2015, 4 percentage points ahead of the same time frame last year.
Jonny Edgar, Operations Manager, Manpower Ireland said, "Hiring confidence continues to be positive going into Q2. Employers in all five regions surveyed plan to increase staff in Q2 which is great news for job seekers. For college students who are graduating in June the Transport, Storage and Communications Sector is expected to perform the strongest which is evident from recent job announcements from companies such as Core Media who are embarking on their first formal graduate recruitment programme."
